My name is Jeff, and I'm gay. This website is an accumulation of my writings and letters regarding my experiences and feelings that came from growing up gay in an anti-gay world. Almost all of the writings on this site were done when I was 16 and 17, and some of them are from my early 20's. At the time of this site's creation I was disappointed in the lack of useful information online about real gay issues, and I was even more disappointed in the way the information was presented, so I gathered everything I'd written about growing up gay, and links to gay pages I found valuable, and put them all here. Online erotic stories are not really very helpful, unless you want tips on how to jump your next pizza man, or if you suspect your best friend is going to randomly throw himself on top of you, or if you think you may be staying late in the locker room. Furthermore, I didn't care too much for websites that painted every inch of the screen pink, the huge oscillating rainbow backgrounds that burn out your retinas, and cartoon male genital navigation buttons that only succeed in making gay people appear mentally challenged. For the past eleven years this site has been online, and for the most part it has accomplished what I set out to do, and that is to let gay teens and gay adults know that they're not alone. Most of all though, I wanted to show everyone that you can be gay and happy, accepted, loved, and successful in life, and that coming to terms with your sexuality in no way impedes your quality of life. You'll find it does quite the contrary. |

Why I Chose This Drug
I had used over-the-counter topical acne products for several years, and been reassured by my parents that I would "outgrow my acne" until I came to the wise conclusion that my face was far worse than an average teenagers' should be. My first trip to the Dermatologist was in January of 1999, and she recommended Accutane. I researched Accutane on the Internet and saw the dramatic results people were getting from its use, and the emotional and muscular problems some people had experienced. Accutane is very expensive, the treatment can cost more than $3,000, and sometimes insurance doesn't cover it... ours did not. Accutane is a high dose of a form of Vitamin A that is taken in a pill form twice a day.
